“Glamazon” My summer exhibit at Fabian Basabe’s Da Vittorio Restaurant

On July 3, the First Friday of the Coral Gables Gallery Night, I was featured as the Fine Artist of the evening showing my “Glamazon” series 2009. The series is a little more developed as I keep adding emphasis to the theme I enjoy conveying, which is, the idea that we are who we are to different people and the “roles” we play in our lives. Celebrity and the idea of who we are and what we would like to achieve in our lives is also paramount in my search for the truth behind my Art.
Having the pleasure of meeting restauranteur, Fabian Basabe, I was delighted to share my artwork at the Coral Gables new, chic hot-spot, “Da Vittorio, Restaurant and Lounge.” Fabian is a worldly, young pleasant host who knows what his distinct clientele is looking for: authentic and traditional recipes from Italy using organic and imported ingredients from there as well. Da Vittorio’s has a light and airy feel in its atmosphere of simple, yet artistic decor.
I have dined there on a few occasions and can attest to a couple of plates that I found absolutely delectable from their Dinner menu, the Ravioli Burro e Salvia with homemade ravioli, stuffed with ricotta and spinach, in a light butter and sage sauce and also the Trennette al Pesto which is Trenette in the original Genovese pesto sauce of pine nuts, fresh basil and oil of olive.
I love Italian food, so maybe I am a little biased, yet the food is top-notch.
Now, to the dessert please. I ordered the Profiteroles as I just love them and had never tried any like these before. They just melted in my mouth. Being the daughter of a cake maker, Ana Paz, and being involved in food production makes me a little bit of a taste expert in this field and I give them a ten for flavor. There are few occasions where I have tried desserts that offer you richness, while still being able to distinguish all components of the whole dish.
